Everyday ownership

Simple habits.
Better protection.

Keep your authorised tag with you and keep your installer’s handover information somewhere secure. This overview supports the instructions supplied for your installation.

Carry and store your tag carefully

Keep the tag with the authorised driver. Where practical, carry it separately from the vehicle keys so losing the keys does not also give someone the authorisation tag. Do not leave it in the vehicle when parked.

At home, store your tag away from the parked vehicle. Ask your installer to demonstrate the configured detection range and how to confirm the system has rearmed.

Look after the battery

Replace the tag battery annually, or sooner if required. Use the correct battery type for your supplied tag and follow the replacement instructions provided. Confirm normal operation afterwards.

If the vehicle will not start

Check you have the correct programmed tag and follow your installer’s guidance for tag operation and battery checks. If authorisation is still unavailable, contact your installing specialist and use only the recovery procedure supplied for your installation.

Keep recovery information private and stored securely outside the vehicle. It is not published on this website.

If a tag is lost

Contact your installer promptly to arrange removal of the lost tag’s authorisation and discuss a replacement. Do not leave the installation in an override state longer than necessary.

Before a workshop or valet visit

Agree the handover arrangements with your installing specialist before the visit. Use only the instructed procedure for your configuration. When collecting the vehicle, confirm that normal automatic protection has been restored.

Using a compatible tracker

A tracker may connect to DCPro Shield using a wired or completely wireless connection system. Your installer should explain supported commands, required services and how to confirm the system’s reported status. Tracking coverage and remote services depend on the chosen tracker and provider.
